DNA Core Facility DNA Sequencing Genome Sequencing |
DNA MicroarraysGenechip DNA Microarray Service The DNA Facility offers DNA microarray services using the Affymetrix GeneChip System. The core houses all the necessary instrumentation needed to stain, scan, and analyze Affymetrix Expression arrays which includes: 2 Model 3000 GeneArray scanners, 2 Model 640 hybridization ovens, 2 Model 450 GeneChip fluidics stations, and computer workstations loaded with the Affymetrix microarray analysis software. The preliminary analysis of the microarray results can be exported in an Excel or tab delimitated text format that is compatible with most commercial and freeware microarray analysis software programs. In addition, a second computer workstation, available to users, has been set up for analysis of microarray data. This second computer workstation is loaded with the Affymetrix microarray analysis suite as well as PartekGS (Partek, Inc.), and ArrayAssist (Agilent) for downstream analysis of the microarray data. The DNA Microarray Service is offered on a fee-for-service basis and investigators are asked to first set up an account with the DNA Facility prior to using the service. Investigators are first asked to contact and meet with microarray personnel before embarking on their DNA microarray experiments. During the meeting, the microarray personnel will discuss sample preparation options, fees, and analysis. |
